LGBTIQ+ Champions

This is the mind out logo

Everymind has been part of the LGBTIQ+ Health Australia's MindOUT Champions project since August 2013 - an important project to further increase inclusive practice within our organisation and to act as a mentor for organisations who newly signed up to the project.

Our Institute was originally invited by the LGBTIQ+ Health Australia to participate in the pilot of the Champions Project following previous partnership and collaboration on work across organisations. LGBTIQ+ Health Australia was been funded by the Department of Health for the MindOUT! Champions Project, which was designed to improve the mental health and suicide outcomes for LGBTIQ+ people.

Everymind was chosen to participate in the pilot as an identified organisation interested in proactively demonstrating the inclusion of LGBTIQ+ people within its programs. Everymind is also proud to have been featured in the Champions of Inclusion: A guide to creating LGBTI inclusive organisations.

Meet our Champion

Since taking on his role as our LGBTIQ+ Champion, Max Tran has been working with the support of Everymind's Senior Leadership Team to promote the inclusion of LGBTIQ+ people across organisational programs and to support responsive, inclusive and safe working practices.

"I am proud to be continuing Everymind’s work as an LGBTIQ+ Champion, alongside LGBTIQ+ Health Australia and other champion organisations throughout Australia. This work aims to support mental health and suicide prevention systems in LGBTIQ+ communities, to reduce disparities and inequalities and promote wellbeing."
