About Mel

Mel returned to Everymind as a Program Manager and member of Everymind’s Senior Leadership Team in 2022. She leads Everymind’s best practice communications and knowledge translation priority program areas which includes the Mindframe and Life in Mind programs.

Mel is an Occupational Therapist and has worked as a clinician and in clinical leadership roles in the areas of forensic mental health, mental health, suicide prevention and youth alcohol and other drug services for more than two decades. Her extensive experience in clinical service development and evaluation is hugely beneficial to Everymind’s purpose of bridging the knowledge to practice gap in the prevention of mental ill-health and suicide.

She is committed to the development of a greater understanding of timely and evidence-based approaches, with the view to optimising better long-term outcomes for people, their families and the community.

Key qualifications

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy), University of South Australia.

  • Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Governance and Social Determinants working group, National Suicide Prevention Strategy.
