Everymind is sharing some exciting news that will mean a change for our team and our stakeholders over the next 18 months.
As announced today at the 2019 National Suicide Prevention Conference in Melbourne, our Director Jaelea Skehan will be taking some extended leave from Everymind to take on a new national leadership role in suicide prevention.
As previously announced CEO of the National Mental Health Commission Christine Morgan was recently appointed as the first ever adviser to the Prime Minister on suicide prevention.
She will now be joined by Jaelea who will head up the cross portfolio team and support Christine Morgan in her role as adviser to the Prime Minister on suicide prevention.
For those who know or have worked with Jaelea during the last 18 years, you would know of her unwavering passion for suicide prevention and collective action for the communities we serve.
While this will mean a change for us at Everymind, we are very proud that Jaelea has been appointed to a leadership role which will shape a whole of government suicide prevention strategy nationally.
We have a strong leadership team here at Everymind and with over 50 dedicated staff and students who will continue the important work in prevention of mental ill-health and suicide nationally and locally.
We wish her every success in her new role and look forward to seeing some of the important work which will be produced due to suicide prevention being elevated to the highest office in the country.
