Next week, Everymind Director Jaelea Skehan, along with staff from the suicide prevention team, will travel to Canberra to conduct a series of workshops at Parliament House to discuss the latest suicide prevention strategies and initiatives taking place around the country.
Over three days beginning Monday 16 October, Parliamentary staff will learn about the Mindframe National Media Initiative, including effective and safe techniques for communications around suicide, working with the media, public speaking, social media messaging and talking with constituents.
Everymind’s Life in Mind team will also host an information booth on national and regional suicide prevention activities, empowering Parliamentary staff to make effective contact with their constituents, and learn what is happening at a regional level.
