The LifeSpan Newcastle Business Strategy aims to support businesses to be proactive about suicide prevention in their workplace. With a small investment in evidence-based training, staff can learn how to support one another and increase their knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to someone at risk of suicide.
Workplace training can help business owners and staff identify the signs that someone may be suicidal, question them about suicidal thoughts and persuade and refer them to professional care.
LifeSpan has endorsed two evidence-based education and training programs specifically designed to make sure community members know what to say and do when someone may be at risk of suicide and to help staff feel ready and able to have these conversations.
